Research Talk "Waste to resource"

The Research Talk “Waste to Resource: Challenges and Opportunities for Businesses” is a meeting open to companies interested in the challenges and opportunities posed by the circularity of products and their production processes. Starting from concrete experiences in three sectors that have in common the production of large quantities of by-products, we will see how, from a circular economy perspective, these materials can be valorized, generating new economic opportunities. Success stories in the agri-food, aquaculture, and marble sectors will be presented.
The aim of this Research Talk is to share the best practices of companies already active in the search for environmental circularity solutions and to network them.
After the presentations of the experiences of the companies involved, there will be a discussion among participants led by the Loop Research Center researchers to highlight the key steps in the innovation processes: from the design of solutions and new products, to the coordination efforts between actors from different supply chains, to the implementation of new systems for the valorization of what was previously considered waste, which generated management costs, and which today opens up new sources of income and markets for companies. A better understanding of these processes can highlight the value of sustainable and innovative circular practices and stimulate other companies in other contexts to seek similar paths.
Event in collaboration with Green Tech Italy, INNOSAP, and the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Verona.
