The article discusses the topic of sustainability governance and control through the case study of a manufacturing company (SIT SpA). In particular, the roles and decision-making mechanisms at the senior leadership and management team level are described, and the key role of the Sustainability Director as a point of contact that facilitates sustainability strategy planning and control, with an approach that combines top-down and bottom-up flows. The role of the sustainability plan in formalizing outlined strategies, making them consistent with business strategies, and ensuring effective implementation is also described.
